Nature of Information that is acquired during the Order Process: The personally-identifiable information we acquire in processing orders and payment transactions is according to the nature of the transaction. It generally includes the amount of the transaction, the customer’s name, billing address, and shipping address, credit card number and expiration date or checking account number.

Restricted Employee Access to Information: We train all of our employees about the importance of privacy. We give access to information about consumers only to those employees who require it to perform their jobs, and then, we only give them access to the minimum amount of information they need to perform the task at hand.

Transaction Security: We have done everything possible to ensure the security of the information you submit via our website. All information submitted to us or to VISA/Mastercard via our website is protected by SSL and secure Payment Processing.

What is an SSL?

SSL stands for "Secure Socket Layer". It is an area on a computer network that is reserved for "sensitive" information and transactions. This secure computer space is either provided to a website by a website host, or a company can employ a system administrator to maintain and manage a secure server that is owned by the company. A secure server has special security features installed (collectively called a "firewall") that are in place to protect any data that you, our customer, send to us. State-of-the-art firewalls and other security technologies are used to prevent these web connected computers from being accessed by unauthorized persons.

Aircooled.Net's maintains its own server to support the SSL connection used for our website. Access to this secure network area is restricted to our Aircooled.Net Technical Administration Manager, and to our order processing staff.

What is a "Certificate of Authentication"?

A valid certificate means that you can have confidence that you are sending your sensitive information to the right place. The certificate tells you that an independent third party (in this case THAWTE, Inc.) has verified that the server belongs to the company it claims to belong to, and that they have taken appropriate precautionary measures to ensure transaction security. The two major Certified Authenticators currently providing this service for the internet are, Thawte, Inc., and Verisign, Inc.

Aircooled.Net, Inc. was verified by Thawte, Inc. in May 1999, and the verification process is renewed annually. Meeting the verification process criteria means that our customers can have the utmost confidence that we are a 100% reputable, established, and honorable business.

Customer Privacy

At Aircooled.Net, we take our customers' right to privacy VERY seriously.

Customer and Payment information is stored OFFLINE by Aircooled.Net, Inc. for tax record purposes, as per US Tax Law. Customers/Club Member identification and shipping information is stored on our secure server for convenience in expediting repeat orders. In addition, customer contact information (email) is recorded and maintained for Aircooled.Net Club Membership participation. If you wish to be removed from the Aircooled.Net VW Club, you may submit a "Removal Request" via the Aircooled.Net VW Club page.

At Aircooled.Net, we NEVER distribute our recorded customer information to ANY third party. This means that you won't ever wind up on a non Aircooled.Net mailing list (email or otherwise) as a result of giving us your information.
